Below are my 20 years worth of well EDC'd folders.

The latest edition is my new-to-me Mini-Griptillian. I absolutely LOVE this knife, and here's why. It melds my favorite features into one complete knife!!! It borrowed the Spydiehole opening, it's got the sheepsfoot/insingo blade style like my CRK, it's got an axis lock - combine all that and it has quickly become my favorite!

As a full-time desk jockey, but part-time LEO and volunteer FF, my EDC changes by the hour. I can't wait to put my BM through the paces!

I love the 555HG Mini-Grip for all the same reasons - love the opening hole over studs any day. It's my primary EDC, and other, far more expensive knives, folders and fixed, are occasional additions at this point.

You've got the HG (hollow-ground) version, which IMO is the best version to date. Thin behind the edge yet with a strong tip and with one of the greatest middle-of-the-road steels ever in terms of being stainless, easy to sharpen, edge retention, etc. To boot, it's legal in most localities due to its blade length.

The Mini-Grip's in general seem to have retained the original McHenry & Williams Axis lock recipe of locking up as solidly as you'd need in a knife the size of the 555 while being self-adjusting for wear.

Great find, Sir.

Professor.

I thank you, sir! I'm new to the BM world, and so far very impressed with this little knife. I'm happy to be a part of a great knowledgeable community that shares history and passion, like you did above! I totally agree the 154CM is still a great steel for an EDC'r.

Thanks for chiming in, and reinforcing how great this 555 really is :)

Wasn't sure about confusing folks, so I just started rereading "BM" in posts wondering.. and wouldn't ya know it, started to laught out loud, scared the cat n the kids, its getting late-

Thanks for the pictures, its always nice to see some real use blades. People in the medical field and care takers know all about the "BM". :)

I started my "serious" knives with a Drop Point Mini Grip and loved it. Eventually moved up to a Ritter Mini Grip which was near perfect in my eyes (I shouldn't have got the orange scales but the original Mini Grip already had black). Got a Bugout and now just ordered a Small CRK Sebenza Insingo...

Guess I should have saved the money and just got the sheepsfoot from the start... :p

In all seriousness though, I was always intrigued by the 555 so I may have to pick one up one day - I've always had thumb studs and the hole is interesting to me.

Congrats on joining the CRK club! That's the one that gets most pocket time with me. Like i said, love the sheepsfoot, and spydiehole!

Thanks, very excited for it! I handled a bunch at a local dealer but they didn't have a 21 Insingo PJ so I ended up having to order onlline.

I've always like my Benchmades and while I never really dug the aesthetics of any Spyderco the hole was always interesting to me.

Congrats on the collection - looks like none of them are safe queens! :D

I just had the overwhelming urge to post and say, "Nice BM."
I tend to gravitate toward the larger BMs, but the smaller BMs work out well, too.
