I just acquired this ESEE-6 today and as soon as I got it home I had to mod it.
I don't use my RC-5 as much as I thought I would but I will use the 6 all the time. I like the scales on the 5 better, I know I am not the first to do this. Man what a difference this makes, and I love the 6, even more now. I wasn't sure I should get the 6 over the 4, but after months of deliberating I decided to go for it, besides I have the izula for fine tasks. I will probably sell my RC-3 now to appease the wife :D

I’d love to see all the black blades available with canvas micarta. My new 3MIL and the 5 I had during the pass around really made me like the canvas scales. A little more grip yet still very comfortable. Looks good!

I did the transfer 1st and though it is not a perfect fit it does feel great ...
Congrats & the 6 looks great w/5 scales

Tony, the OG of the scale swap. Yeah TTD why don't you talk to the boss man about the canvas scales on all the blades. And the bushcraft blade while you're at it. :D

It's a popular swap this, I will need to try it out. Not too sure about the buschcraft blade Adaman ;) but hey if they make one, ...

Yeah I love the canvas on my black 3MIL and 5. Ever since I first saw TTD's handle swap I've been wanting to swap out the micarta on my 6 also.

Don't get me wrong, I love micarta period but, canvas just kicks ass. The texture is better and it just looks better :)

i like the linen and the canvas... my little bro thinks it's all too rough... i keep telling him he's got lady hands, but he doesn't listen.

The more I handle this knife, the more satisfied I am with my decision to buy it, and to mod it. I can't wait to take it out for the first time and put her to the test. I did test some food prep slicing and unlike the 5 that often acts like a splitting maul with hard veggies instead of a slicer, the 6 actually slices nicely. I am very impressed, I was looking for the perfect (for me that is) camp knife. I considered the 4 and I am sure the 4 would have been great as a camp knife, but with the added blade length of the 6 I am positive I made the right choice. Besides the 6 really isn't that big of a knife.
