My Persistence arrived about 45 minutes ago via UPS. As soon as I got it out of the box I grabbed mt T6 torx and went to move the pocket clip for tip-up carry, only to find that all but one of the screws on the clip were so stripped that my torx just spun in the screw. Upon further inspection all but one of the handle screws and the pivot screw are completely stripped. This is a really big disappointment to me because I thought this would be the perfect EDC knife.

A similar thread is on the spyderco forums. Get a few pics, but they do not use Torx screws I believe.

It would be nice to know where you got the knife new or used.

Either way unless they recently changed the screws they use, a torx bit is the wrong bit to use, you'll likely damage the screws and make it impossible to even use a allen key or hex driver. If it looked like the far left screw out of the box it was damaged by Spyderco and I would expect them to cover you, hopefully at their expense, or return it. If they looked like the right two screws and don't now, it's because of the wrong tool.

If it is actually a torx screw then none of this applies.

I have a Persistence and it uses hex screws NOT torx screws.

But it sounds like the seller sold you a bad product. How does the blade look? If it shows signs of wear, it is definitely the seller's fault but if it is pristine, perhaps Spyderco will fix it for you.

I luckily had read on the spyderco forums that they were hex also. I got my persistence last week. I used hex to switch it to tip up, no problems.
good luck!

Luckily, I had read about using the Hex driver rather than the Torx.
When the knife arrived, I took a hairdryer to the screws before attempting removal, to loosen up the glue.
