Of course most of us having their personal "holy grail" and in terms of CR it could be anything, depending upon personal taste and preferences. In my case some of you may have noticed that I have started a little collection of large 21 with damascus blade. Owing already a few of them, CR has confirmed about 2 months ago that they have stopped using mammoth ivory for their knives. Not having been able to buy a mammoth inlay / damascus blade Sebenza yet I was thinking "damned ! No more mammoth ivory inlay Sebenza arround and definitely non with damascus blade !"
And as expected, if you check the usual CR dealer online shops, Sebenza with mammoth ivory are basically history. Chances that a CR collector will put one out for sale are obviously pretty low, particularly after having CR announcing their stop of using mammoth ivory. Well. But live is not always a b .
and just by chance I saw one piece at a German knife online shop. Even mammoth bark inlays, instead of plain mammoth ivory, which are more interesting because of their colors and appearance. They said it was received upon and older order, now fulfilled by CR and I did not hesitate a second
.. Although the price was quite painfull
But mammoth bark inlay in combination with damascus blade is for me the ultimate piece and the peak of the pyramid, so to speak.
The damascus pattern is raindrop and I must say, it is one of the most fantastic raindrop pattern I have seen so far. Seems that at CR they pay attention by picking the best pieces of damascus for this peak knife of the Sebenza range.
Here it is. Hope you enjoy it as I am doing.
Best,
