Here are a few pictures. So far, this knife is the closest I have come to pocket fixed blade perfection. Small enough to be carried comfortably, yet large enough to perform the mundane daily tasks I use it for. Not to mention comfortable in use and nice to look at! (These pictures don't do the knife justice.)

The specs are:

5 1/2" over all length
2 1/2" blade of 3/32" 154CM
2" cutting edge
Amboynia burl handles with aluminum pins
Kydex pocket sheath

I really like that design. (so did someone else, the one I made for the upcoming sale is already gone!)

Nice job on the pattern cvc. That's an awesome little knife!

Thanks jds1! I was inspired by a few knives that almost met my needs and John did an awesome job bringing it to life.

John, I'm going to "need" another one. I'll post in the order thread and then email you the details.

Great design!

I am excited to see what you carve up with it!

I think and Ironwood one (like the one that JK sold) is spectacular!

Well cvc - our Personal Utility knives should be popping up in the almost ready to ship thread!

I am looking forward to this one, I plan on using this knife for carving a handle on my 2014 Christmas Tree hiking staff/mushroomin' stick .

Heat treating today, so you will see them Thursday!

I'm also getting a little anxious. This one is convex ground with a single 1/8" handle pin, and the handle slabs are buckeye burl. I'm curious to see if the convex grind makes a better whittling knife than the V-grind. (I think the lack of "shoulders" at the edge will make a difference.)

I accomplished a lot this morning!

Cleaned up 4 blades (3 for orders, 1 for the February sale)
Cut out handles
Got handles gluing on
Froze my ass off

Good work!

Stay warm Mr. K!

Great job John! Those are beautiful as well as very functional. I am definitely anxious now!

Thanks John - and thanks for the pictures as well~!

I received my JK / cvc Personal Utility on Friday evening, but I did not have time to check it out until today.

What a great little blade - John has made some very nice little knives for customers, including the Riverwoods Companion, the Kentucky Fieldmate, to name a couple.

This little guy slots in just smaller and with a higher handle to blade length ratio, and I think this one will be excellent for woodcarving.

It sure is a beauty in Ironwood!

Mine came with John's excellent Kydex sheath as well.

The small black specs on the blade are from the plastic residue from the sheath - I slipped the knife into the sheath and then did not blow it off - oops.

Finally, a shot in hand to show the relative size.

Thanks , cvc, for a cool design, and thanks John for crafting the design to perfection!
