This pig finally came home after many years. I carved [ files and rasps] this rosewood pig for a relative when I was 8 years old. She passed away and it was returned to me.Those were very productive years for me !!..It's 3" long.

That's pretty neat Bob!! Betcha that brought back lotsa memories.

very nice.....8yrs old, hell i think i was carving a broom handle, surely not rose wood....real nice work!!!

Very nice job Mete, and you say you were only 8. Man I could not do that good now.

You want a BBQ pig story ? Even before I carved that pig my father worked on Park Ave ,Manhattan [VERY rizzy ] .He got to talking food with a salesman from Alabama. That led to the salesman saying he'd send a little pig to my father. My father thought it was just an idyl comment and forgot it. But one day there arrived ,on Park Ave, a crate with a little pig !! My grandfather had a restaurant with a little back yard area so they put the pig there and fattened him up with leftover polenta and pasta ! Then he took him to a Chinese chef friend who BBQ'd the pig...Anything can happen in NYC !!

They are back again! last year we caught 18 behind my house. This year they returned with a congregation. Hope they do not get into the vineyard , if they do no wine this year.So far they have a healthy respect for the electric fence I installed around it.....I am talking about wild hogs....lots of them and they are taking over the state. Correction....they are trying to take it over.......from our Spanish speaking neighbors to the south. if that's not politically correct my appoligies....sort of :D
