Well guys, she is away and in Todd's (Fod) hands. He has done some work on the material for the handles and i thought that I would share those photos that he has sent me. I will update this thread as i get more photos and news on progress :D

the last one is the material at 400 grit finish. must say, i am happy.

Todd did say that the camera and scanner just plain screw with the CF, so keep that in mind.

Lol, I have no idea what I am looking at. But I look forward to pics of the finished product.
 
OffSet, I think you posted your Lahar in the thread "which is your favorite recurves", did you have your Lahar reground? It looks to have a better edge than factory but it could just be the reflection. Looks kickass either way, and the Lahar would be an amazing slicer if thinned a bit.
 
Here are some in progress pics of the knife in question :D

The material is carbon fiber and copper colored silk laminate.

The first pic show the material thinned at an angle to show the "stripes", so to speak

Then I traced the factory scales to use as a guide in roughing them in.

Then I screwed them together and sanded the scales flush with the liners.

Next step will be to thin them down (unless TJ wants some fatty scales:cool:), then finish drilling and counterboring the holes and sanding to finish.

I noticed that and thought "that is awsome!". i really like that about it. and to quote Jar Jar from Robot Chicken Star Wars Ep 1, "itsa all sparkly glowy!"
 
So this is looking good and it is attracting alot of attention.........I'm thinking passaround :eek:;):D

Just kidding of course..........you should just send it to me to fondle:D

we dont have smog in the winter. you see, with the cold weather, the smog just goes to ground level. Thus when it snows here in downtown, the snow just turns black from all the smog.

Um, what do you think the smog comes from, and what do you think the chili is flavored with? It's a vicious cycle. :D

Lived around here for 17 years, and the chili hasn't gotten any better...
