I did something today that I haven't done in the US for close to 50 years. My wife and I went out flying for a couple hours. Took a flight up the gorge and swung back and was able to find my place and get a picture of it from the air. It sure gives you awhole different perspective. I sure could see myself getting very lost flying although I did take the controlls for a few minutes. My place is straight out from the tire. You can make out the red barn that is my shop and the house is just to the left. I'm sure glad I mowed my grass yesterday.

That's neat as all get out Ray. Makes me want to break out in my rendition of "Green Acres". :)

I havent been in a small plane in years. Bet that was a great times. What happened to the trees?

Is that just part of a someones farm , up in the left corner? The big structure.

Mark, Pretty much the whole area thats around me is nursery stock. I had a heck of a time spotting our place because of that. It all pretty much looks the same from the air. Just infront of the tire there is an area that looks mostly brown. Root stock was grown there last year and it has all been grafted with someother type of tree. The section of trees that border that are mine. My own woods with a seasonable creek that runs threw it. My hay field and pasture is next to that. Its pretty cool but actually more than I care to deal with anymore.

Looks cool Ray, I felt right at home. ;) You were flying pretty low, which is a blast. What kind of plane was it? Is the gorge in this picture? Sure sounds like you had fun, and I know I would have. Will you get to go again? If you do and get to take the controls, ask him if you can land it - and watch his expression change. :D

IG, My shop and barn are just about halfway up and on the right side of the picture. Looks like a white roof with the red front and my house if just left to that. Before I go flying again I'll put an X on the roof.... :D

Dave, It was a blue plane. I think he said it was a Cesna. For most of the time we were around 1500 feet or just alittle higher. We were wanting to go over St Helen's but the winds were just to strong. We'll be going again. Both my wife and I enjoyed it. I was wanting to try for another picture of my place but she was about to lose her lunch so we hurried back to the airport. I did ask if I could land the plane but Jackie said no.... I'll put up a picture of two of the gorge tomorrow.....

Ray!!! I don't see Clinton????? :D Hey!!! send your wife up alone and you stand on top of the roof. The glare from your bald head should show very well in the pic. HEHEHE!!!

Bruce, Yes that is, except thats Wednesday. I guess I never told you I had 7 vets so I could change them like my shorts each day... :D

Very Nice !! My Uncle is lucky enough to own his own plane. He shows me images like this and I bet its an awesome feeling to be up there.

Brian, I plan on going again. When you come right down to flying its expensive but not all that bad. My wife paid for it but I think it was around $30. an hour. The little I got to fly the plane I really enjoyed it!

My uncle had a flying license before a drivers license. He can fly one of his planes upside down for a LONG way. Some short tailed sucker thats one of the hardest to master. He loves it!

My place from really high up.

7 1/2 acres with a creek running all the way through it, a 7 year old 2 story country home with attached garage included is a 175' X 28' 2 story block barn with an eight inch poured concrete floor underneath the barn is a 3 car garage. :D

Now if I can make enough money to keep it. :(

for $30.00 a hour, I'm not sure if I could drive my car for that with the fuel prices like they are  :)

Ray was that for the both of you? or each?

I was in the Civil Air Patrol in high school. It was pretty neat. We got to wear our uniforms to school on Fridays and leave for half the day to go train in search and rescue.

Nothing like getting to show up early and go flying with a drunk retired Air force pilot. Whoo hooo. Them was the good old days.

Dan, I believe it was just for the plane. It sat 2 besides the pilot quite comfortable. The fellow that took us is training to be a missionary pilot and he needs to get so many hours before he's accepted. I could be wrong about the price but that would be nothing new.
