Just finished my latest Opinel no 6 mod.
I got lucky on this one because for once I was able to peen the pivot to a point where the blade opens snug but smooth with the last quarter of the action nice and tight( stiffer but still smooth).

Furthermore I stained the handle with leather/paper dye and the flame of my Zippo :) and widened up the blade slot (too hard to capture with my cellphone camera)

I think I'll leave it alone now before I overdo the modding and screw it up.

That looks great; good job! I like the light weight of the No 6 but It's too small for my fat hand.
 
Looks real good. I've thought about doing something similar but the stock handle of the 6 just fits my hand so well.

And of course "widened up the blade slut" is a hilarious typo.
 
Good job! Made a very nice little friction folder out of it. As light as the number 6 is to start with, it must be a feather now.:thumb up:

Is a lock on the blade a no-no for the Netherlands?

No Carl, we are still permitted to carry any locking folder as long as it doesn't exceed 28 cm when open. You only have to pay attention where and in what situation you carry a bigger knife.
Balisongs and automatic knives are strictly forbidden.
