Had Bill Lerma remove the serrations and bead blast everything but the butt cap. Before that, I had cut off the guard and flipped the barrel loop (new guard) and butt cap.

Very nice. I probably would have just cut off the loop. Can you actually use the choil now? :D

*eyes my ZT-9 with malicious intent...*

Sure, the choil can still be used. It might possibly mount to a rifle as well.

Nice mods. A couple questions. Why do you prefer the bayonet loop side of the guard? Also, with the prices I've seen online, as well as the cost and time of the mods, it doesn't much cheaper than ordering a new TGLB from Busse.

I think the bayonet loop makes a more effective guard. I paid $200 for this knife... I also have a TGLB currently at the shop of out very own "Strigamort" getting a Walking Dead inspired danger sheath made.

Ah, for that price, it makes much more sense. I guess it makes sense that the larger loop would make a better guard, but does it make using the choil less comfortable?

I don't usually find myself using the choil. Given the example of a Strider SMF, I see the choil as a waste of what could have been useful sharpened length. But yes, I can comfortably use it.

Even at a good price, I think calling it a "poor man's" knife is a bit of a stretch. There's still a lot of great options for under $100.

That said, it's good to see the infamous bayonet getting some love (if I'm right, that's the knife you EDC'd for a month?).

Nice mods and great knife choice! I've been eyeing the ZT-9 even though I have absolutely no use for it whatsoever. Something about it is just so clean and appealing.

Yup. I had one a couple years ago and carried it from sun up to sundown for a month straight. This will also be carried.
