The scales are from Cuscadi but bead blasted by Randy (aka SolosKnifeReviews on YouTube).

Randy then did his acid stone wash on all of the steel at a lighter hue than normal, rounded the blade spine, dropped the point a tad, and sharpened the knife to a mirror finish.

I'm really happy with how it turned out, it looks like something out of the post apocalypse (which is a good thing in my book).

Sorry for the quality of the pictures I'm not a photographer thats for sure and all I've got is my iPhone:

Also the video where Randy shows the knife before he sent it back to me:

Looks nice! I like the rounded spine. I don't have a para 2 yet, and the shortage is prohibiting me from impulse buying one :D

Very Cool lookin' PM 2!

I really like the way the blade looks, the rounded spine, and the finish/look of the clip. I Don't Like shiny clips.

The handle looks fantastic too.

The only problem you have with the knife is, you have so many $$ invested in the knife you can't ever afford to sell it.:D

The guys that modded your knife did a Fantastic job IMO.

The scales were the most expensive part really. But I understand that doing Para 2 scales are a big pain in the neck.

But yeah, I'm really happy with how it turned out and no plans on selling it ever. Randy's attention to detail is pretty awesome. I've never done metal working but I imagine there's some technique to rounding spine as evenly as he does it.

@mrdeus, I got mine right before the shortage. Didn't know there was one really until people started freaking out on the forums pretty much a week after I bought mine. :)

I like it a lot! Scales and the blade work make it look unique

When you said post apocalyptic it pictured it spattered in blood and zombie brains! Looks awesome though, really dig those scales. Do all the changes void your warranty?

I imagine my warranty is shot to hell. But really, the knife had no factory issues so provided I don't do something that probably wouldn't be covered by the warranty anyway I imagine I'm going to be fine. :)

One thing I liked about Randy's work too is that he leaves the functional parts of the knife alone. So the parts where the lockup and pivot happen weren't messed with. Which means for all intents and purposes the important stuff shouldn't be any different than it was when I bought it except for ordinary wear and tear from incessantly opening and closing it because its so much fun to do so.

I enjoy having a knife on me most of the time but I'll be truthful.

I'm not running around cutting stuff or fighting people off with my tactical knife all the time. And beyond the occasional camping trip or times spent back in Alaska visiting family I mostly use my knives to open mail boxes and stuff like that.

I have quite a few Spydercos and have never had to use the warranty anyway, and through my use of PM2s I've never had even a minor issue. And for a knife that looks that cool, I think it is a good tradeoff. Didn't even notice the acid stonewash at first, but that looks amazing! Now I'm thinking I need one too...

Should note the pictures are a bit off of real life too. The acid stone wash is just a bit darker than it looks in the photos (you can still see the text and spider on the blade well though). And the handle is a few shades darker of a brown too. The colors are really off in Randy's video too. The treatment on the blade is much more obvious in real life.

Any reason to lower the tip?
Personally I hate Endura and Delica for that, and love millie and para blade shape for the straight spine.

Mostly to give it a tiny bit more strength. I've got a history of breaking tips off of knives so the slightly added thickness to the tip is welcome.

And I was also kind of just looking to make it a bit more 'different' looking than a normal Para 2 and think it ads a bit of character to it. I carried a Kershaw Leek that I broke the tip off of and then reshaped it a bit with a sharpening stone (the TSA took it from me a few years back when I forget it was in my pocket so I don't have it anymore) but after that I never had the tip break again. So this is like a preemptive attempt.

I kind of like the reshaped tip. I remember seeing PM2 with the tip modified to be a tanto some time back. I dig the stock PM but always love seeing mods to spice things up!

Nice PM2....I know what you mean by the scale being most $$$$.....I just order from them...can't wait to get them.
