After a 11 month long struggle with the previous owners this purtty little hammer arrived today.

It's a Sahinler air hammer with 110 lb headweight, you can learn more about this hammer over here www.powerhammers.com .

If I'd be telling you what I paid for it you'd probably woant to beat me with a stick :D. And it even included the delivery (300 mile trip) by a truck with a loading crane, that made unloading the hammer a lot more comfortable.

I'm just a happy as can be now and cleaned the little baby with intensive care. Although I'm not that photo compatible, you can see how much I'm grinning all over the place. I still can't believe it.

Now the foundation will be a bit of problem, I'll probably have me a steel tub welded, and pour in some cement, reinforced with steel. And of course I'll put some state of the art isolating rubber pad under the whole construction. I'll probably spend all the money, that the hammer saved me, on the foundation, but my neighbors are very likely to thank me for doing so :D.

Looking forward to your (jealous :p ;) ) comments.

Regards Marcus

Yep, I'm jealous you German punk!!! :p :D

That's awesome Marcus! I'm very happy for you!!! :cool:

Does your family have a trucking business or something? (with the truck in the background I was curious).

I can't wait to see what you make with your new toy! :D

Congratulations! Looks like a great self contained unit. Get that foundation done quickly or you'll go nuts not being able to use the thing!

So how much did you pay? C'mon, you can tell us :D

I got an unused, second-hand Bullhammer a while ago for a great price too ($3000) but the time it took me to get a suitable air compressor, hook up a new filter and oiler, and set up a pad was almost too much to bear

But now that it's in business, I'm a happy guy!

Can we expect to see lots of damascus knives coming out of your shop in the next few months?

Thanks a lot guys, I knew you fellow forgers would understand my constant state of happyness right now :D.

Since Don and others backed up my sentiments toward a wooden base, it might not be too long till I can get started with the little boy.

@Wulf:

I had the option between spending my hard earned money on a pimped KMG package without shipping or buying the hammer with included delivery, so go figure :D. Now you'll probably understand me even more ;).

@Nick:

I allready expected that this hammer will hit a weak spot within you :p, :D.
I admit it's a little off, that I as a lazy ass student am owning a 110 lb hammer and you as a fulltimer are limited to your press and your girly arms ;) :D .

Just in case you're still reading ;), my father is operating a small landscaping business and the trucks are part of it. And while forging I probably have to drive two of them out of the "shop", to not get them messed up with borax. So finally I can put use to my truck drivers license :).

I think if I'm finished with my school in summer and if I might be touring the world afterwards, I'll have to put you on my must visit list, as you were quite an inspiration and help when I got started. So fear the Hun that might haunt you one day ;).

Regards Marcus

Reminds me of working years ago on my thesis in college .Made my own steel ,forged it etc. I used a similar air hammer .It seemed to always attract attention..Get it working and send photos !!

a buddy down the street has one of these....awesome hammer...noisy and scary-powerful...!

Anytime Marcus!!!!! :D :cool:

But then again, I'll just be jealous that you're touring the world ;)

Hey Derrick, who is that hairy guy using your air hammer!?!?! :p
