I haven't posted any pics for awhile, so I thought I'd throw this up here :)

Thanks,
Nick

Super cool! I have a thing for push daggers and this one is just how I like them.

That is gorgeous Nick! I love the elegant lines and classy designs of your knives and this one certainly lives up to my expectations. :)

One question: How do you do the little fleur-de-lis part on the ricasso area? Is that added on or carved out?

BTW, post pictures more often! :D

How much time did you need for the filework?
It's something I'm trying to learn, but I can't imagine how you did those curved lines... file? Dremel?

Nick,

That is beauuuutiful, very classy. I would like to see some specs on steel and handle material.

AWW come on Wheeler is that the best you can do? (grin) I didn't even get a chance to hold it before you went and took it to Daniel (snivel - whine).

Wow, you guys sure know how to make a guy feel good :) Thanks!

I made this one before I started pounding, so I had to start off with a 4" wide piece of steel and cut/file it out.

The bolsters are 416 held on with two pins. I did the back radius and the front point on the bolsters and then got the side profiles and finally pinned them on. After that it was just a lot of filing and sanding to get them to shape (you guys can see why I posted an inquiry about a Foredom a while back now).

Honestly though, I think the technically hardest part on this was tapering the tang from 3/16" to 1/16" when it's so wide.

The scales are double-dyed box elder burl (brown and black).

Thanks again for the kind comments guys! :)

Wowsers Nick, I've seen push daggers in the knife books that couldn't hold a candle to your's! You have to get some good pix of it and send them into all the knife mags and book publishers. That is one awesome piece of art!

Great looking knife Nick.

Isn't this the knife you won Best New Maker with at the Salem show? A well deserved award IMO.

That definitely isn't right ! I just spent all of my knife $$ for FY 02 and you have to post that beauty !

Just isn't right ! :D

Please tell us that you're going to have a free drawing for it. . . ;)

What a piece of Art!
that has to be one of the nicest push daggers i have seen!
Great work Nick:cool:

Nick,
I have never cared much about push daggers, until now. Great job!
That would sure have been a must have for a 1800's gambling man.
Regards,
Greg
