Hello all. I wanted to share my WSK with you all. I am new to the Forums here and excited about meeting some good fellas who are interested in the same game I am. I don't know if these pics will work but I hope so. I must add that they do not do justice to the work of this blade whatsoever. The lighting in my apartment is terrible, and it does not bring to life the spirit this knife evelopes. I have used the Tom Brown Jr. TOPS version for the past 3 years, and now I have this baby to play with. I have been very happy with the performance and abuse the TOPS tracker has taken from my use in the woods, but I think that once I have the familiarity with Mr. Linger's WSK I need, it will out do the Tops Tracker in all aspects. Once I felt the WSK in my hand there was no question that it is a master work of art. I have to take time to get to know my blades before I put them to the test. I have sat and stared at this thing for quite some time now, getting to know all of its intricate details. Hopefully I can summon the courage necessary to watch her work sometime soon. LOL! I think I may be a bit Samurai-ish when it comes to my tools. Any how, here she is -Damion
Look a few posts down for the pics...

visionsect,
If you want to email the photos to me, I would be glad to help you, and post them here.

Ron, you are the man! Thank you for going through the trouble. Your time in posting these is greatly appreciated. -Damion

Thank you fellas. I am proud of this one. I take her everywhere I go. I even bought a car seat for her...LOL! Just kidding, but that made me think I should...hehehe! Thank you for the positive feedback on the blade. Roger is an outstanding man, I just can't say that enough. He is truly an honorable person, and that just makes me more happy to have a blade made by his hands. -Damion

Hey Damion,

First off welcome to BladeForums. You have found a great place in BladeForums and in fact the very place that I started knife making from some few years ago. I was then looking to make a knife from kit form and searched for what I wanted but with no luck. Eventually I happened upon the Shop Talk section of this forum and there I found myself amongst knife makers. Not kit builders but knife makers and blade smiths. It was like 'when I first saw her I fell in love' kind of a thing. No longer did I search for kits to build but rather how to make the knife from scratch. Here, where you have found, is where I became a knife maker. I am pleased you joined the forum and you shall be too.

I am happy you are pleased with the WSK. I trust she will perform for you. The bluing I still wonder about as to how it will test under use. I can only imagine, being hot blued just as firearms parts are, it will scare and possibly badly. Just, when ready, use it as the knife it is ment for. Not to be used as a crow bar but as a knife. Chop and cut the hell out with it.

To all others: Damion is an accomplished potter. I have (my Lady has) two of his hand made coffee mugs. One is kept with me and the other, her favorite, at her house. I do notice she always uses the cups Damion made when she poors coffee for herself.

Roger, Thank you for the warm welcome. I have learned so much already from reading on this forum. As I said, the knife you made for me goes everywhere I go. It is a great work of art that I appreciate more than you could ever know. I am sure that the bluing will scar, but to me, that will be the beauty of it. Seeing a work of art make a transition from the current piece it is, into a work in motion, battle scars and all. I plan to finally put it to use in the next few days. I will be wondering the wilderness, and she (the knife) will be on my back. I also purchased two copies of Blade that features the WSK. One for safe keeping along side the certificate.

For the past week I have had the chance to play with sheathmaking some more. I made one small one for a folder (completed), and two larger ones (WSK and hunting knife sheaths) still unfinished. Stitching will be a new art form for me to master. I am excited to share these with you sometime Roger.

I am so glad to hear your lady liked the mugs. I can not think of anyone I would rather have using them for their intended purposes. Thank you for your appreciation. I will stay in contact with you Roger. Hope your work is coming along. I would love to come see the progress sometime if you wouldn't mind.
Take care of yourself -Damion

Just give me a call and we can schedule it around some grinding or handle work or heat treating or something. I'll have you making knives if you're not careful.

For the post above - No, I do not have my blades pre-cut but am planning to have my next WSK's laser profiled. That is, the outline will be cut out for me which will save many hours at the bandsaw and horizontal belt grinder (I make them about a dozen at a time.

Thank you very much Roger. I will definitely give you a call to schedule out a time. I will be heading out to D.C. to visit the folks for a while, but I will keep in touch with you. There is something interesting that I picked up at my wife's dad's, and want to share with you also (possible handle material). I am sure my hands will be fashioning blades before I even realize it! LOL!! First sheaths, then the knives, next thing you know I am doing the whole thing. -Damion
