When I went with Uncle Ethan to PWYP last year, one of the new delights to be experienced was ramps. For those who don't know, ramps are like a cross between an onion and garlic. They are also called wild leeks. Anyway we got into a whole mess of them and I saved a few and brought them back to Iowa for planting. I planted them in the shade in my back yard where it is nice and cool.
I am hoping they will be fruitful and multiply, but they came up just fine this year in the back yard.
If you're curious about PWYP, here is the first in a series of 5 videos about the trip. Somewhere in there it shows how to cook ramps.
