EDITED:
The idea I had most likely is not doable, as it would be very hard to coordinate and make determination of need/eligibility.

I think you are going to have to pick a dealer. I would suggest Derrick at knivesshipfree.com

I am in the tank as far as money goes but I know one very important thing. There are many more people far worse off than my wife, son and I are and I can spare $10.00 if you set it up with Derrick. :)

Organization would have to be by someone other than myself.

Money is pretty tight here, but I had a little stash that I have been saving up so I'm good, but I'm not sure I'll be able to contribute the extra $10, time will tell though.

Not a problem at all! It would be totally and completely voluntary.

I can scrounge a spare $10 if they make it where we can do this i'm in.

Call me cheap....but I prefer seeing RC donate to military quality blades or even individuals like S. American guides/troops they deal with on a regular basis.

It is a great gesture as part of this thread, but we are talking about a collector-attributed knife. As great as a ratpack is - and I want one - a person in true need of a knife because their life depends on it and profession demands it is a more worthy cause than a person who wants it because of the extensive hype we are generating.

I'll pledge $10 - but I'd rather see it go a truly charitable need.

Sorry - I'm such a schmuck...

Your not a schmuck. That's a total commitment to deserving souls.

Like I said in the other thread, assuming money isn't super tight I'd be willing to pitch in. As for the person getting the donation, I'd be willing to help out either option, both are RAT brethren and deserving souls in my opinion (provided we make sure the general user really does have a financial difficulty).

This. As long as it is helping somone get a knife that wouldn't otherwise be getting one.
