Hi Folks I just wanted to let me friends here know what's going on with my blade show this year I was hoping to take the MS test I put a lot of work into my dagger and felt like I could get it done as well as the other 4 needed blacksmithing had been very slow leaving lots of time for knife making. But that changed and the smithing work started to pile up and soon I felt the window close so no test for me this year I will be at blade in the ACE booth with 3 to 5 knives . ams6.jpgams7.jpgams8.jpgams9.jpg

Dave I will see you there and BTW in my eyes you are already a Master Smith :)

^what Joe said!

Dave, you are one hell of a bladesmith no matter alphabetic characters following your name or not.

As much as I was looking forward to seeing your MS test knives, I'm glad to hear that business is good.

No sweat Dave, can't wait to see you and your blades. Of course I know I have to get over there quick or the knives will all be gone...

Know the feeling Dave. Will be at Blade this year though. I am just going to be a spectator. Will be interesting to really see the place. See ya there.

Thank you all for the kind words and advice it will happen when the time is right.

Bummer Dave! But work is work and you gotta do it when you got it. Looking forward to seeing you at BLADE though. Stop by and see me at the judging room Friday. You'll be sittin' cool while we all sweat. All the best to you on the future test...you are a master IMHO!
Ben

I understand and glad that the work is piling up. :)Always a good thing. I won't see you until Little Rock next year so maybe this way you will still have some of your master's knives left for me to view.

BTW: How about sometime showing us some of your blacksmithing projects.

All my best.

Gary

David, You ARE a Master Smith. Just a technicality prohibits you marking your knives as such, but everything else that would make a master's knife is already in there.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Dave

In MY reality.....you are a great guy, and a "Master-Level" bladesmith !

when the timing is right for you, you will have no trouble adding those 2 letters to your resume

In this economy, having too much work is a GOOD thing :D

Thank you all very much it is easy to get caught up in this whole knife thing and I will but the effort into getting the stamp. I think you will like where I take my dagger should I pull off what I started but I will need the right frame of mind to do it. Ben I will be there when they come out and give you the news. A friend of mind told me it took him ten years to get MS he said enjoy the ride I love making knives and the people you meet doing it. Thanks again

Sounds like you and Quesenberry could be "classmates" next year for MS testing. If I could get my act together, I could finally test for JS and maybe carry you guyz's luggage and hold your coat or something :-)

Rock on, Dave!

Dan

I totally get it Dave! Sorry to hear you won't be getting the stamp this year, but we all know it's just a matter of you getting in that testing room. :)
