Hello folks,

At the beginning of the year I discovered Arizona Custom Knives (AZCK), and their daily listings of used and pre-owned knives for sale (well, weekdays anyway).

I log on every evening and browse through the listings, and if I see an inexpensive knife I like (usually under $200), I buy it.

I realized I have bought several knives in the last couple of months, so I decided to do a group "unveiling" of these recent purchases.

Here are the boxes. Amazingly all these came with their original box, paperwork and plastic knife wrapper. And the knives are "like new", so it was like a trip back in time, to a Christmas that never was. :)

I know there are a lot of knives here, but when you see the huge variety of styles and models, I think you'll understand why this is so much fun.

Wow! Look at how different they all are!! :D Short Benchmade 970s on the lower right, then a longer 975 above them, an Emerson CQC-7 on the lower left, with a Benchmade Auto-Purdue 3550 above it, and a Super CQC-7 above that. And the very unusual EDC Forum Emerson Tanto is on top of them all! Such variety!

Okay, how about a test for the Benchmade experts out there. I went and got out my old 3550 Purdue Auto, and the blade grind is different and so it the blade marking. My original (bought from Benchmade may years ago) is on the bottom and the one from AZCK on is on top.

Any idea what year they changed? Are these the only two styles? I presume my original is the older one. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks for looking! I'll go put these away now, next to my other Benchmade and Emerson folding Tantos. I would show you those too, but you'd think I was c-r-a-z-y! :p

That's odd, they all say "Anyone who has the link can view". I've never had any problem before with that setting, like on other forums. Weird...

Thank you for the heads-up, but I don't know what else to do...

UPDATE: I tried setting the parent folder for the same "sharing". Did that help?

Not for me specifically, sorry. :) Others might not be having the same issue?

I can see the pics fine.

It's great to see such a diverse collection! Hey, I like the theme. The CQC-7 was the first "real knife" that ever really grabbed me. The second was the Commander!

That EDC forum Emerson is nice!! That handle looks really comfortable. I've never seen that one before.

Nice scores! That green Emerson tanto reminds me a lot of the new ZT/Emerson 0620

Hi jk,

Yes, with that large "cut-out" it is very comfortable, and secure! The blade opens nicely, I just get it started with the thumb disk and I can "wrist snap" it out the rest of the way.

The frame-lock is a bit "buried" in the handle, so it isn't as easy to unlock, but for the increased comfort, security, and how nicely it opens, I'll take that trade any day! :D

Well, a nice gentleman (Lightning) over on the Benchmade forum nailed it, and that made me go check my records and he is 100% correct.

The upper, newer knife is a Pardue Auto 3550 manufactured 2004 or later.

The lower older knife is actually a Pardue Auto 3500, which I purchased from Knifecenter of the Internet, in July 1997, for US$115. (Thanks Howard Korn!)

Different models, so different grinds and different branding. I'll probably never know why they changed from the 3500 to the 3550 though. I bet money was involved! :p
