WOW- this is some kind of light. I received it in the mail today (FROM SOUTH KOREA) in less than 4 days. I was blown away at how quickly the thing got here.

I bought mine from a guy over on candlepowerforums.com who sold the light (included 1 battery) and also a sweet Kydex sheath that holds the light and one extra battery. VERY nice set up. I paid (including shipping) $62. The lights themselves are around $45-50. The whole package is VERY impressive.

Now, about the light itself. I can see these things really giving Surefire a run for their money. The fit and finish is quite impressive and the actions (clickie and the threading, etc) are all top notch. It is a Luxeon 3 watt LED that can put out 75 kumes...that is more than the E1 and the E2. I was blown away by how bright this littl esucker is. I have not had an opportunity to use it outside int eh dark yet, but will test it out tonight when I take out the dog.

The size is about 3/8" -ish longer than my E1 (regular head) but the diameter is the same. Overall, I give this thing 4.5* out of 5. The only thing that I would like to have is a little shorter to make it alittle easier on EDC in a pair of suit pants, but I will ive with that.

I have heard BIN mentioned before. What exactly does that mean? Is the new luxeon a REAL improvement?
Thanks,

David:

Thanks for posting the CPF link--I don't get there much and this was too sweet a deal to pass up, especially as I'd thought about getting a Q3!

Bin is how they classify Luxeon leds as far as color & forward voltage. In most cases, unless you're buying something that is extremely custom like a Mr. Bulk masterpiece, the bin of Luxeon you're getting is a crapshoot. Flashaholics call it the Luxeon Lottery, as you toss in your money and have no idea what you're going to get. Even Surefire lights have a little bit of the lotto going when you buy one of their LED lights.

Jaids, that's where you lost me. My QIII is definately NO S bin! It rivals my KL4 in many aspects, and beats it in more than one! But that's just part of the lottery!

Edit - click on this link for more information on Luxeon BIN codes. It's a PDF document, so you should be able to download right from that.
