Was going through the gun safe a couple hours ago, and found an old lost friend. My early Benchmade 705 McHenry-Williams. G-10 scales and black coated ATS-34 blade. Wasn't really lost, but I quit carrying it about 3 years ago, cleaned it up and put it back in the original box. When I took it out it brought back a lot of memories. I forgot how nice this knife is... Well needless to say I headed out in the garage and gave it a good cleaning and touched up the edge.. Starting tomorrow it will go back to its edc position for a while.. I guess it takes a little time away from something to really make you appreciate it. Anyone else done this with your knives? If so what was it?

I have an old BM 800 that was my edc for the longest time. I put it in the safe, which I may have carried it once or twice for in the last year or so. I thought I would give some new folders a try. I have found a knife I really like and that is a PE black blade paramilitary. After about a month of breaking in the para it felt very smooth, then I pulled out the old BM, and the BM was smoother. The blade's weight and lenght made the it open so effortlessly. The only thing about the BM 800 is the fact that is a bit too big for my EDC. I just need to get my hands on one of the mini AFCK (it think 812).

I do this all the time. I carry one knife for a while and then I unpack an old one and think to myself why did I stop carrying this? That's half the fun.
