I've been carrying this knife for a couple months now. Over all I like the knife. I have a couple pros and cons about this knife.
Pros:
The knife is heavy and has a thick usable blade. The modified tip is very useful to puncture canisters made of all materials without damage to the blade. The blade has huge solid thumb studs allowing clean deployment of the blade with gloves on. The rocky mountain tread cut into the G10 scales makes the handle comfortable and none slip in wet and cold situations. I haven't had a trace of rust on the ats-34 steel. Which the cmf54 version was very easy to get traces of rust on the surface of the blade. The blade keeps it edge fairly well. As well as the higher priced steels. The knife's size just makes the knife easier to use. I have problems getting a good hand on smallish knifes. There's no worry for that on this knife whither it be with bare hands or gloves on
Cons:
Some of the great features does get in the ways sometimes. I.E the tumbstuds get in the way when sharping the knife. A 17• Angle is the lowest angle I could get on the edge because of the studs. To grind at 17• Is pain stacking but makes for a scarie edge. But 18-20 is easier to do and makes a very sharp edge. The large thumb studs keeps me from making as deep cuts as they keep the blade from penetrating.
Over all notes:
Cutting with this knife I realized why Buck made the Bravo a chisel grind. As thick as the blade is it can hender cutting in some materials cause of a wedging action. It feels like the blade is dulling but it really isn't. The bravo being a chisel edge it tapers so it just keeps cutting. I would suggest this knife to anyone looking for a heavy EDC that won't crumble to abuse.
When I first got my csar folder the cross lock and clip was so tight it made use so rough on the thumb closing and pocket putting knife in and taking out. Within a week this eased up just enough to not cause problems but still hold knit firm in the pocket and blade open and locked.
