Hello:

I'm just getting started in doing gear reviews, so I thought I'd share my most recent review here.

I would appreciate any feedback, likes, shares, subscriptions etc.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for posting.

I'd really like to see a review of it in use, tho!

Videos of a knife on a table with a voice describing what is right there and parroting specs are a dime a dozen.
😐

Put that sucker through the paces and show it cutting stuff and being sharpened! That's the good times! ! 👍

I also think more people would subscribe and follow, if that's what you're after. Also, be more familiar with your product.

I appreciate your time and its nice to see close ups of that knife in hand.

Looking forward to seeing some exciting stuff!

Thx.

Thanks for the reply. Actually I do show it in use around the 6:50 mark cutting through wood and then doing an edge retention test through paper afterwards.

To be honest I didn't make it that far, for the reasons I stated above.

I'll go back and check it out.

I guess that's sorta the point tho. I do like a spec run-through and in-hand section of a knife I'm interested in, but perhaps do all that at the end, after some more exciting footage. And keep it simple and quick. Most people watching have already educated themselves on those points. Speaking for myself, but assuming others might agree, we watch videos to answer questions we can't find on the manufacturer's site. Like your edge retention demo.

We are in an ADHD culture these days. And sadly, I'm no exception. You gotta hook em early and keep em interested.

Anyway, you can't please everyone, and I could be completely wrong here. Just trying to give you some feedback that may help you be different from the rest.

Thanks!

Nope thats what Im asking for, thanks! I like em short and sweet too. I try to include the basic specs as well as my experience with it as if it were the only review they watched. (Even though its not!) :)

I like Emersons so I was interested in the review because of your title. I read the thread, esp. JB's response, then watched the entire video. I'll echo what JB said about the arrangement of the video. I'd prefer to see more activity with the knife and a quicker overview of the specs, maybe at the end of the vid when you're giving your overall impressions of the knife.

Also, because Emersons are ground differently than most, as you mentioned, tell us a little more about how well that worked or didn't work for you and more about your experiences in sharpening that edge. What did you use to sharpen it up? Maybe a pic of the sharpening setup? How hard or easy was it to sharpen?

Finally, I normally have a 10" time limit that I set for reading or viewing knife reviews because I'm doing pre-purchase research. I suspect that other folks have limits as well. For a normal first review, you might want to set a limit & fit everything into that time slot. If you really like the knife you can always go back again for a longer, in-depth review.

Overall, the review was a good effort. Tweak it a little for layout and content and set yourself apart from the other reviewers.

Thanks so much! After hearing the time limit from others too, I've decided to do a "down and dirty"
Review next. A quick run thru of the top ten things we all wanna know and end with my opinion. Like 3 minutes tops.
Maybe do a full length as well?

Longer vids can be useful, esp for getting detailed info about another user's experiences and issues with a certain knife. I'm just more of an "overview" kind of researcher so I like shorter reviews that hit the highlights. I particularly like to see the knife in someone's hand and compared for size and thickness side-by-side with widely popular knives like the BM Grips, Spyderco's PM 2, ZT's 566, etc.
