My review of the Mini-Talon: I'm not pleased

It's to bad It's soooo over priced!!:( I would get one if it was not for the price. I have many knives that are truly hand made and are the best quality and don't cost as much as this production blade!! Lower your prices Camillus!!!!

Chris,

Given the cost of the raw material and the expensive processes necessary to work with Talonite Camillus' prices are very reasonable.

I am confident that if you take the time to price out a number of other pieces made with Talonite you will find Camillus' prices very reasonable.

Yes, I guess so! It just seems like a high price to pay for a tiny production blade! getting close to custom $$. Maybe I'll pick up one some day but only if I can see everything is in premo shape(ie-grinds being even) It is a VERY nice looking knife though!

P.S. what does talonite cost pre pound anyway?

Ok! Thanks Guys!! I've spent Thousands over the years on customs,so if the talon or mini talon is really as good as most of you are saying I'll have to get one soon!

Talonite is very pricey, as is the process to grind it. a piece of talonite 1" wide, 7" long and 1/8" thick is around $60 IIRC. Then you have the cost of belts for grinding, which can get expensive as with talonite, you can go thru quite a few belts on one blade, whereas other materials, you can grind 5 to 10 blades at least on them.
