Have you tried the Lum Onslaught? The Rukus is in a league of its own -- and I'll never sell mine -- but the Onslaught is just as big. Actually, the blade is just a touch larger and the handle a bit smaller. What I like about the Onslaught is that the blade is very thin and the shoulder width of the edge is very narrow. It is a beautiful slicer.
The blade of the Rukus is heavier, so it flies open easily under its own weight, but the Onslaught is still an axis lock. I've been able to put a better edge on its 154Cm than the Rukus' S30V.
Anyway, thanks to the OP for standing tall for an under-appreciated classic.
