I've seen these mentioned a few times recently. Here is mine....marked Solingen Germany. Carbon steel....good tension on both blades and half-stops. It's a nice knife...I like it. I have some old walrus ivory coming in that may end up on this knife.

Looks just like my Boker in every way except for the handle scales and the Russell markings. Easy for me to see that they are made by the same people. Great looking knife, I love those old saw cut bone scales.

Very nice, morrow.

I don't know why, but when I see a barlow pattern, I think of the steriotypical pocket knife of Huck Finn. Maybe because Mark Twain actually carried one. It just seems so... American. It's the kind of knife that goes well with .44 Russians and lever action Henry's, old beat up coffee pot on a fire and a dented tin cup.

Twain specifically mentions the barlow in Tom Sawyer. I happen to have the exact same model as Morrow's, and I love mine too. Too bad they seem to be getting harder to find recently.

Mine has a rougher piece of bone on the left side, but it feels/works just fine.

morrowj, that'a sweet knife. Does Russells come with steel bolsters?

You have me pumped up about the Walrus Ivory, please share the pics when you get them.

Good luck,

Sunburst

Jackknife I just got a .44 Russian top break S&W and am looking for a traditional folder to go with it and you have just made my job a bit easier.
