I refinished the haft on my Sandvik and got rid of the glue that got all gunky on me. Sealed it only with Howard's Feed 'n Wax this time.

Here it is with it's handsome new woods companion, a JK Handmade Knives Canadian Belt Knife (serial number 2)!!!

Nothing but smiles from this guy! I'm extremely pleased with both tools!!!

Thats nice stuff. Let me know if you want more, I can cut to dimension and ship it to you.

The blow down that I used was so twisted and gnarly that it's difficult to pick a decent piece. Is any of yours reasonably straight????

Yeah I have some already cut into 20 ft + logs - but have been laying around for some time - so those wont work. But I have a ton on the property straight and true. Some dead, some still alive, but straight. Still an SOB to cut, split, etc, but that is what we want.

I could cut and pull it out in 20-25 ft lengths, then cut to form, say 3"x3" by 4' long - that way you could get proper grain orientation.

Though shipping would be the ultimate factor, unless you make a road trip to Pa to see the collection! If you do, its $25 admission.

Sorry sir, as you are not Canadian, any knife designs affiliated with my homeland must be sent to me for proper usage, as per the poutine act of 1917, section 3. :D

most excellent kit, JK makes some fine knives, i have one of his first woods knives. it has a most excellent heat treat

nice looking Sandvik axe, it has a little bit of a surface knot, which think will not cause any trouble

all good

I'm sure you've got some distinctly american pieces that you'll have to send my way then. You are aware of the reciprocation clause in section 4, right????!! :D

Very nice pair, I like canadian style knife, just have got one yet, some day, something else.......

Nice! I forget Elm can look so good. I hope that knot isn't gonna be a problem for its longevity.

I've got a JK CBK blade on order.....REALLY looking forward to its arrival. More so now!

Sorry for the hi-jack/mis-direct but what have you used to patina it so blue?

Thanks, Scruff. I just stuck it in a glass of vinegar for a couple hours. Since the pics, I've even it out a little with some 0000 steel wool, back to the vinegar, back to the steel wool.
