Went over to vist my mom and dad today and dad brought out a box that had some knives he wanted to give me. In the box were 4 Shrade old timer boxes. Look like woodgrain and say " A knife like grandads".. on them.
One box has a honesteel with leather case, and paperwork. The hone has a black lanyard on it.

One box is marked 152 OT sharpfinger. Has the leather sheath, paperwork and also has a black lanyard.

One box has125 OT lockblade. This knife has the leather sheath and paperwork.

The last box is marked 1080 T. This little folder is still in the original plastic with the paperwork

My dad said he got these in the early to mid 70's.. All are unused and have been in his closet ever since.. I am going to try to figure out how to get pictures on here. Really happy about these and just wanted to share it.

I think handing down knives, is great. Unless my daughter gives me a grandson that I can try to lead down the right path, I will not have anyone to leave mine to, and will sell them later on in my old age.
Will be looking forward to some pics, if you can get them posted.

I did the same thing for my son when Schrade closed up. Bought several slipjoints that have simply gone in a drawer for another day.

Good on your dad. And congratulations on the new knives. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

When my grandad passed away 2 years ago, I got his knives. He only had 3 pocket knives one is an old timer stockman(can't remeber which model) and a Schrade-Walden stockman and another old peanut which was his user. The 2 Schrades are mint. My son is 9 years old and we started him on collecting knives a few years ago. He loves it. I have taken my grandads knives and my dads knive and put a slip of paper in each box, telling who they originally belonged to, so when something happens to me he will know whose knives they used to be .....
