Im not a collector. I buy knives to use. These are my Schrades. I had three others stolen last year. Ive lost lots of Old Timer pocket knives. The Old Timer folder here , Ive had for years. Its never been used.

Not a good feeling to have things stolen at all. Nice variation of Schrades across the board, the Old Timer 25OT is a handful of a knife and in unused condition, that's even nicer.

Last year someone got in my truck and helped themselves to two fillet knives, one was a folder. A fixed blade that resembled a sharp finger{the blade wasnt quite as curved}, and a needle nose vice grip multitool, all Schrades.

I'm not a collector either,I use mine as well. I only have twelve Schrade USA knives, nine of them Old Timers. I do find myself bidding on Old Timer models that I do not have (no duplicates),to use of course:).

Then there are those pesky, inexpensive Imperials that keep coming home with me while I browse area shops. Most are put away then given to my son for special occasions, some I keep just incase I might need to use them someday.:)

But I don't collect Imperial Schrade Corp products, they are all users.;)

There is nothing wrong with buying knives to use and then using them. How else can you truly appreciate their construction and utility? I don't know many collectors who don't also own and use knives. Myself, it has been my habit to buy a user of almost every new-in-the-box knife I add to my collection.

I use Schrades daily in my work. And I keep replacements on hand for when they get lost or broken. I give them as gifts to friends and family.

One of the attractions of Schrades (and Imperials and Ulsters etc.) has always been that they are well made, well designed, useful knives at affordable prices. As it was when ISC was still in business, it remains so. The limited edition and low production knives are interesting to examine and collect, but most of the patterns were made in such quantities for so many years that they remain relatively easy to find in whatever condition desired and inexpensive to buy.
