Glennbad generously gifted his knife "fantastifing" (?) services for a giveaway recently (See HERE) on the JK sub-forum and I along with RussB were fortunate enough to win!

After much dancing and gratitude I realized I needed to find something worthy of such a project.

Thus the search has begun for something to be put under the skills of Glennbad. I have uncovered a number of interesting prospects here in old KY recently (some of them from a vendor mall that just opened where the owner has the habit of finding beat up old knives and selling them for a (1) buck, I buy them each time, hoping to help him keep his eye out :)) alas the search is still going on, I just haven't found anything with enough left in it yet :(

Still thought i'd post them here anyway, I hope this is the appropriate place that they may find some appreciation. I'm still glad I picked all of them up, leaving them to sit and rust on a shelf just didn't feel right anyhow.

I'm fond of Robersons and already ahd them laying arodun, but as the second picture shows...not quite enough to work with.

On a side note feel a mixture of excitement and sadness when i look at the Utica Jack in the middle here, it looks to have had some beautiful bone scales at one point but the little sliver you see here is all that is left around the shield, the half stops still snap like knew, even if the blades are all but gone.

The little imperial peanut stockman (as i'm calling it) by the way, feels really nice in hand, not always true with imperials of it's ilk IMO, but without any of the main blade left...:(

I've thought about taking some of them apart and using the various blades for projects where I learn more then I succeed in making knife related things, but I'm awful slow on getting round to things like that.

If anyone thinks they may bring them some fun/joy or that they might like to work on then, let me know I'd be happy to send them to where they would be appreciated, or dare I say, given more life?

I'd also like to thank both John, of Jk knives, whose forum prompted the giveaway and glennbad again. While I've seen a lot of generosity on the forums I can't think of a prize I would be more excited about or couple of guys I could enjoy chatting about knives with...accept all of you, of course

I take it Glennbad will put new covers on an old knife for you and you don't feel these are good candidates because there isn't enough blade left? I've carried and used knives with blades more worn down than these, but I can see why you'd want to wait until you find one with the most potential for years of use. Is that a Schrade second from left? Doesn't look too bad to me, but perhaps not Glennbad-worthy :)

...yes, that's what's going on :)

It's a Schrade 834, it in pretty good shape but for the missing sheepfold and the weak to no snap and pull on the main.

I have wanted to mess around with taking apart and making a frankenknife out of different old knives email or message me if you want to part with any

I agree you don't want to waste those handles on a used-up knife.

I wouldn't despise the old Imperials. Good steel, often found nearly intact at reasonable prices. With Glennbad handles, they'd be hard to beat. (I've done it once myself, and I have a bunch of them waiting for me to find the time, patience, and nerve to try it again.)

Any particular pattern you're hoping to find?

After seeing the magic he worked on a TL-29 I would be in the market for one of those to send to him.

I am in a predicament as well- I too am scratching my head as what knives Glenn shall receive - or should I say worthy enough for Glenn!
He has done some amazing work for me- of which will be posted soon!

good luck finding another one Cambellclanman! hope to see pictures of the stuff he's done for you already sometime.

FYI, someone emailed me and asked for all of these so I'll send them out this week, good luck on the project buddy!
