For my purposes Scott has hit a homerun with the design of the PSK jr. After carrying folders all of my life, I have spent the last year looking for a small fixed blade that I can carry in a pocket sheath. I wanted this little knife for daily tasks of opening mail and cutting apples, but I also wanted a tough knife that I could take on my day trips into the backcountry. Finally, I intended to use this knife as a complement to my bushcraft knife for overnight backcountry trips.
On my quest I purchased a BRKT PSK knife (too small), a BRKT "little carver" (nice knife but the handle feels slick in my hand, and the BHK "frontier first" (this has been the closest to perfection, but I wanted a little more knife, a little more handle.
So here is the knife that Scott made for me. Everything about it feels perfect: The meaty micarta handles fill up my hand and the handle is just long enough. The blade is long enough for good utility, yet short enough to carry easily in my front pocket.
in its belt sheath that Scott made.
in the Dakota Leathers pocket sheath that I bought for another knife last month. I'll probably use this for toting around town.
So now I can sell off some knives in order to make some money for a Gossman U.N.K.!
Enjoy,
Tal
