My large sebenza 21 that I have had for over a year developed pretty bad stick. I have clean it out and made sure no oil was on the lock interface but it did not help. I have also tried sharpie and pencil on the tang. Any suggestions or should I just send it to CRK?

True lock stick on a CRK is extremely rare, though possible. Every time I have been in your situation it ended up being residue on the lock face. In my case from cutting oranges, apples, etc. The solution is always to wash the knife in the sink under running water with soap. If that doesn't work, you may truly have a problem requiring CRKs help.

BTW.....the sharpie, graphite, and pencil tricks are just for knives with poorly designed locks. They have no place in CRK land under normal conditions.

Thank you so much I followed your advice and on closer inspection found residue on the tang which I scrubbed off and now my sebenza is smooth as can be!

Soak in a bath of hot water and liquid kitchen detergent. Dry. Spray with CLP (cleans-lubes-protects).
