I’ve wanted a small micarta classic for years. Whenever I had the money I couldn’t find the right knife. This came up on the bay yesterday and was still on this morning and I just couldn’t resist anymore. Never been carried according to the current owner and it certainly looks it.
It should arrive next week, if it’s all good I’m pulling the lanyard, breaking it down for fresh grease and in the pocket it goes.
I’m sure I overpaid but a medical incident earlier the summer (by all accounts I shouldn’t be alive right now) has put my frame of mind in the I should get the things that I want if I can afford it and enjoy them, none of us are promised tomorrow mode. No safe queen for this one, I’m sure that Chris would give me the thumbs up.
Pics from the original ebay ad.

I carried and enjoyed one for many years. May you get the same enjoyment from yours.
Congratulations on your score.

Congrats! One thing though, and it could just be the pics, but....I picked up a Small Classic MM last year and it has more of a satin finish on the handle scales. Definitely smoother than my LRs. You sure someone didn't sandblast yours?

I believe that the micarta inlaid scales are sandblasted on the presentation side, other inlays such as yours are polished.

Not my pic but on the far right is leather inlaid like you have, next in is micarta inlaid like my incoming. Polished show side on yours, blasted show side on mine.

Ebay's become so diluted with 31 scalpers that it's hard to catch classics/grails anymore.

Thanks for that info! Interesting choice by CRK - guess it's a textural thing, with the micarta having a rougher surface than wood or leather, and the titanium to match.

Well it came in yesterday, I didn’t have a chance to get to it until this morning. This one is as close to NOS as you’d ever get! CR perfection in spades. It was amazingly smooth considering it had the original grease in. I broke it down and it was pretty much dry. New grease, lanyard removed and we’re good to go. Blade is perfectly centered with no play as expected. Lock up is about 50-55% and rock solid.
This has the most unique micarta pattern that I’ve ever seen on a Sebenza. Somewhat of a combination of the straight line and the “squiggly“ lines. I love it.
The subtle differences between this and my other smalls is nice especially the double bevels on the handles.
I was afraid that once I saw it it’d be a safe queen but now that it’s in hand I feel exactly the opposite.
My only regret is that I didn’t find one years earlier!A0124BAB-5CC7-4C7E-BCA6-F3CEFD5F05BE.jpegC1AB290F-E710-4EEB-936E-5712AF95583E.jpeg313F1F50-4BD2-4601-8012-5EA22982621D.jpeg7219559F-F230-476D-9C2C-22C23FCBA113.jpeg6DD087A7-C9C4-4AD6-90EE-54E88ADECB09.jpeg

The word inlays are done how Chris thought they looked best. The micarta can be re-blasted without removing the inlays. This makes the micarta even better for a user.

I had a small micarta inlaid 21 re blasted years ago, turned out great.

Definitely something to be proud of. There’s no doubt you’ll get many years of service and smiles along the way.
Damn fine knife.

Thank you all. We’re closing on a new house next month, I’m saving this knife for that occasion and the many years thereafter.
I’ve decided on that day I will start the one year challenge with this knife!
