I NEED HELP!

I disassembled my Sebenza and cleaned it. When I reassembled it I rounded one of the “hex holes” in one of the screws. Also the blade is now misaligned and rubs a little bit on one side when I close it.

What should I do? This seems like a fairly straight forward process. However I don’t want to damage my Sebenza any more than I may already have done. (Being a GRUNT I can break anything) Should I try to disassemble it again, possibly completely stripping the screw head, or send it back to CRK and let them give it a make-over.

Is there an illustrated guide to Sebenza maintenance? I would appreciate any input from my fellow “Sebenzanistas” or from CRK if possible.

Thanks!

Arguing with a GRUNT is like wrestling with a pig. Everyone gets dirty and the little pig loves it.

About the misaligned blade... open the knife and make sure the washers are in correct position. I (obviously have not tried, but) think that if either of the washers has slipped to a wrong place, that might cause the misalignment.
The screws... CRK can send you replacement screws. Might cost $10, but you can get them.

Hugo.

Perhaps you can get a new screw from CRK.

Been there done that!

Fortunetly it was with a different knife. I stripped an allen flat head screw I wasn't able to get it out. I took the knife to a jewleer and he was able to get the screw out with no problem. Now I use Craftsman's Grip Doctor it increases the griping power of screw drivers and allen wrenches by 400%! It works and doesn't leave any nasty residue on the knife.

Good luck, we all screw up!

The screw will cost aboout $1.
Take it out and disassemble the knive.
Let it set up while you wait for the screw, then reassemble.
The search function should provide a lot of material on assembly

Nick,

I did once have the washers off center after re-assembling my 'benz and the action was uneven and stiff.

Do a search. I found CRK's description for reassembly was right on.
