Hey fellow sebenza addicts. I am looking to get a small sebenza anytime now. :jerkit:

But before I do that. I have a few questions. :D

1. I can see the difference between the classic and the modern...but what IS the main difference?? I understand the classic is popular, but there most be a reason why CRK made the modern version...what are they?

2. is it possible to anoldize the handles myself? (I want them Gold!!;))

3. i read a lot about the s30v being not corrosion resistant and have stain spots...is that true? :barf:

thanx!

With my limite experience with them, i.e., <1yr...

The Classic has a different blade profile, more pointed than the Regular. The handle on the Classic is more "simplified", which I prefer as I find it easier to open the blade. The Regular has the "ridges" where your fingers go around the handle.

Yes, you can anodize the handles yourself, if you know how to do it properly. See the "Maintenance, Tinkering and Embellishment" forum here and do a search for Anodizing or Titanium Anodizing. I would like to try it myself, but haven't got up the nerve to do it on a Seb. Maybe another Ti handled knife I have later.

As far as the stain resistance, I don't have that much experience with carrying them on a regular basis. I will start tomorrow. From other knives I have carried for some time that have the S30V steel, I haven't seen any issues with the steel staining. I usually wipe off my blades when I finish using them.

Go on, get yourself one. You won't regret it.

The classic has cleaner lines, a pointier tip and a more accessable lock bar. The regular has a slightly stouter blade and grippier handle.

S30V will stain readily in harsh eviroments without oil and care. However, the staining will wipe away easily unless you really let it go.

Well said.
