Guys, here's one I just had to post - a custom by Audra Draper, MS.
I met Audra for the first time at the Eugene Show two years ago. I was so impressed by the work she had on her table, and by her (one of the nicest Humans I've ever met!) that I had to order a knife. I wanted damascus, and I wanted it to represent her interpretation of a hunting knife I already owned... I just wanted a different version of it, preferably forged and damascus...

This is what she came up with...
Blade is roughly 6" long, with a 4 1/2" handle. I think the steels used were 15n20 and 1084 (won't swear to it, my files are at home...)
And the handle might be Thuya or Amboyna.. yeah, I think it's Alzheimers...

Oh well... the thing about this knife is the unbelievable balance it has, and the grind on this piece is truly scary sharp...

Audra is one heck of a knifemaker!

My money is on Thuya, but whatever it is, it's got a beautiful, rich color to it. The damascus is bold too. That sure is a fantastic knife, Joe. Looks like it really fits the hand nicely, and I bet it cuts like the dickens too.

Wulf...
Why'd I think you might be one of the first to sing out?! LOL!!! :D

Sharp? This thing has to be used to be believed! And that's just the tip! And I do think it's Thuya, too, but I'd have to go back and check my papers... the downside to not having internet at home.:(
But what really gets me is the feel of the blade - you've heard "It feels alive!?"? This one just feels righ no matter how you hold it!

And over the next few days I'll add another one or so.. hope y'all like!

Hey guy's , Joe Nice looking knife im thinking the handle is Amboina just beacuse the " dot's " are spaced out a bit and it is darker in color than thuya . nice to see someone who is happy with their " new Toy " See ya in Puyallup .:)

Thanks Matt! And I'll be seein' ya, too - gotta pick up at least one this show... and I'll stop by and see if that idea I was having ever came to fruition!
Take care...
