My second GEC arrived yesterday. It is a bullet end jack in brown jigged bone. It is serialized (23 of 25). Several members said I was in trouble after my first purchase as GEC are somewhat addictive. You are all right. I now have 5 more on order. And a couple of Canal Street knives as well. Thinking about ordering a Northwoods or 2. I'm so glad I stumbled onto this site!?

Nice, I like the brown bone on that one. I'm a big fan of the 85's although all of mine have spear point main blades. I will have to add a clip point version to my want list. Which Northwoods are you considering?

I must say that is a fine looking knife! I really like the nick upon nick setup.

I am glad that you're glad. This knife stuff can be addicting and expensive once you get past the "need" part.

I started somewhat like you, they pile up. I gradually shifted to the larger slip joints in the 4.0 > 4.25" closed length class as I noticed that I simply didn't want to really use the smaller ones. Now you need a one of Charleys' barlows. I did even though I knew that I preferred a larger knife.

Congrats on one nice looking knife. And I know what you mean about becoming additive as I continue adding to my small collection on single spear point blade knives.

Nice second GEC!

If you're looking at Northwoods, two of my favorites are the Indian River Jack and the Presidential.

The IRJ is awesome for everyday use, and the Presidential is a lot of fun to carry. It's very slim, so even though it's a larger slip joint, it carries like a much smaller knife.

Somewhat addictive? You think?? You're turning into a one-person economic stimulus package!! :D:eek::D

Very nice knife, fairhaven :thumbup: Some kind of teardrop jack is high on my wish list, and yours reminds me of why I wish for one!

Love the #85 pattern, in my right front pocket every other week, sharing time with the #92. While mine is the spearpoint, the clip is a beauty as well.

Congratulations friend, you now have the disease!! Your wallet will hate you forever now   good job :D
James,

Clip and pen with nicks on the same side is my favorite of the #85 patterns. At one time I had four of them, but now down to just two, stag and bocote.
Your brown bone looks great! It really is one of GEC's best knives.
