I guess my first was technically the square un-polished test blade I made..but anyway.
It's a right-handed grafting knife. You cut towards yourself when taking cuttings, so that grove is a thumb grove.
It's a gift to my horticulture school's horticulture department and professor, and made pretty good practice. A splinter came out on the side of one of the slabs, and makes it not as smooth looking as it was. Also, I forgot to work the pins down to smoothness along with the wood, so had to make them fit flushly after having smoothed the wood (So they don't fit quite flush). But all in all I'm glad it turned out any kind of ok.
