I guess my first was technically the square un-polished test blade I made..but anyway.

It's a right-handed grafting knife. You cut towards yourself when taking cuttings, so that grove is a thumb grove.

It's a gift to my horticulture school's horticulture department and professor, and made pretty good practice. A splinter came out on the side of one of the slabs, and makes it not as smooth looking as it was. Also, I forgot to work the pins down to smoothness along with the wood, so had to make them fit flushly after having smoothed the wood (So they don't fit quite flush). But all in all I'm glad it turned out any kind of ok. :)

Nice, you have made more knives than me.

I hope one of my first ten looks that good when I finally get started.

Nonsense, once you learn to keep the file angles (or grinder angle) consistant, it starts coming right along. I was surprised I had made a knife shaped object, Stunned when the file skated across.. then was kinda upset I shaved such a large bald spot on my arm :p

..oh, I doubt anyone wants any, but if anyone wants, I have some 12 or so pictures taken along the way of making it.. none during grinding, they start with it covered in scale
