Hey folks , this is my second knife I have made , the first was pretty odd looking so I didnt post pics.
The blade was a Busse boot blank. I did the stock removal and shaping using a grinder and files , sanded etc , tempered in my little BBQ until non-magnetic , then two bakings at 500 for 1.5 hours a time. Blade looks a little crude , but it is sharp as a razor.
OAL is 6 1/4 inches , blade length is 3 1/4 , D2 tool steel , Bubinga scales.
Simple filework on spine filled in with my special 'bonding agent' mixed with Cocobolo flour blend, and my patented severe etching finish (lol) on blade :D .
Sheath took me about 2.5 hours , my first sheath ever , simple but functional.
Tell me what you guys think and dont be afraid to be honest , I'm working on my 3rd blade now and I've got the "bug" bigtime , so advice is appreciated.

Nice job. Pretty handles. Keep it up, you've got the bug now. :D

That's a nice, functional-looking knife :) I like the offset handle-to-blade angle, I think it would promote an easy-use grip on the knife while doing lots of cutting.

Aesthetically speaking, I think the pins would look better if placed closer to the center of the handle slabs. Also, since wood expands and constricts, on future knives you may want to consider using a spacer between wood slabs and the blade tang. This is something I reckon I'll do for my next wood-handled knife (so far, I've made a total of 2 knives, one with wood slabs).

You are doing well and I'm anxious to see your third knife

Good effort. I like the wood you have used on the handle

If your interested in file work Bruce Evans has some good tutorials on his site. Well worth a look. I like his vine style best.
