My second knife

Here's my second attempt at knifemaking. The sheath is actually the first one I tried. This is the prototype for what I plan on being something I will make often. My goal was to design something that my boys in the fleet could use in the sandbox. I wanted something that would take a beating....or as Ken Coats says, "could stab through a helicopter door". I'm going to try another one with the same profile but flat ground instead since this one is rather heavy. Let me know what you think. Any suggestions welcome. Here are the specs:

5160
Differentially heat treated
Full convex grind all the way to edge
Mirror finish
OAL 13.5"
Black linen micarta
Stainless tube handle pins
"USMC Black" sheath with black snaps on front and back of strap

I LOVE IT!!! For your first knife I'd say you 'done MORE than just OK.

Is the top swedge sharp? How long is the blade out of the 13.5" OAL?

Very nicely done. How much to ship that to me for some testing? :D

That's an impressive hunk of a knife. It's hard to believe it's only your second. Great work on the sheath as well.

Whoa Garrett, very impressive work. Design, craftsmanship, leather, all around look that the knife has. Very nice, Congratulations!

Only your second knife? Looks like a custom knife from a seasoned maker.
I wish i was that good, still working on my first knife :o

That's awesome! The only critique I can offer is that your lighting to take photos can be alot better. You need some "daylight rated" bulbs or a good flash set up so you don't get that incadescent yellow. The knife is just great.

Thanks guys. Yeah, my light box needs some work. I kind of use what I had available around my basement to make it. I'll take that into consideration though.
