Hi folks I wanted to share my test knives with you. What a ride it has been and yet I feel like I am just getting started on my knife making path 6 years as a JS I thought I was ready two years ago but when I got into the dagger it was clear I was not ready but this time was different. I had spent some time with Mike Vagnino on dagger blades and handles that helped a lot I also had Mike Quesenberry show me his approach to flutes and wires and dagger blades, I also talked with Jason Knight and Adam DesRosiers about daggers and what they liked and did not like, so I was much more confident this year. I made a practice Dagger and it came out very nice so I dove into the test dagger. Two blades, two guards and two handles later I came up with this it is all Dragon Thunder damascus 14K gold wire and spacer 13-1/2” blade OAL is 20". I want to thank everyone that had to put up with me as I went through this and everyone that supported me by buying one of my knives the makers and collectors really are like one big family. I think we can all learn and take a page from what we have seen happing at the Diskin USA booth over the last few years led by this Crazy Guy Joe P supported by Mat D making it a priority to support and promote other makers. A tip of the hat for that.

this one is the first ever frame split ring black wood with coined bronze spacer Feather River Damascus Blade its BIG

this is my Ivory handled fighter with Dragon thunder Damascus.

Jim thank you for the great photos

Dave, these are all amazing. You know I'm a big fan of your knives and Damascus, especially the flying dragons. That D guard pattern Damascus is really cool, like a river of lava. Does it have a name? Great job all around.

Congrats again on the MS and the Best Damascus and Best Bowie awards.

Amazing work David,

I had a buddy name David Lisch in Upland CA as a teenager :)

Dave,

Those are beautiful knives.

Congratulations on getting your Mastersmith stamp.

Hey Dave.....fantastic set! Glad to finally see them. Sorry I missed them and you in person this year.

Congrats on the MS stamp. Well deserved.

thanks Mark I call that Pattern Feather river it is a feather pattern with a river of w’s going down the Middle Adam I grew up I a little town called Fairfield went to FF high I am 55 now.

Your work has always been incredible my friend.....your Damascus is some of the finest in The World. Like I told Mike, there are guys like you that need another classification beyond Master. ;)

Dave, what an AWESOME set of knives. Anyone of them would make a great addition to any collection. Pity it's not mine😒

Thanks Dudley and Rick, Rick we need to look on the bright side so the next knife you get from me will have the new MS stamp I am pretty happy about that.

Dave, that's a fantastic set of knives... but the dagger takes the cake. The proportions and flow are awesome, and that guard and spacer are like butta.:thumbup:
Wish I could have seen these guys in person.
Erin

Congrats again Dave!

This was my first Blade Show and was fortunate enough to meet most everyone I had hope to, including you!

Outstanding knives, my fave was the split ring Bowie, and apparently B. R. Hughes also!

Great set of knives David.

this one I have from you is marked JS but could just as easily have an MS stamp on it. It proudly sits with a few other super knives by other fine ABS makers within 6 feet of my current location and is enjoyed on a daily basis.

There were a lot of fine knives at Blade this year that we did not have the opportunity to see as we did not travel to attend. Thanks for showing the knives you produced to get your MS stamp. Congratulations!!!
