A while back I posted up a review about Contender's new modular articulating work rest. Well Darren just got the initial production sharpening jig set up made so I figured I'd share it. It uses mostly Tormek parts but is adapted specifically for this work rest so you can check out how it works below (I set the video to start playing at the relevant section). While I finally have the perfect set-up with Contender's build, I've been using my own version of this for a LONG time and it functions very very well so it's time tested ;)

Way good vid, Josh. This is a great workrest system. I have the 2nd ever Kanter toolarm and a DDD for my early KMGs and both will get retired in favor of the Contender once my 2nd one arrives. :) It is so very easy to use, more intuitive than the other style of articulation, and very well made. One of the huge pluses for me is the ease of manipulation not needing near as much hand strength. Loss of hand strength and pain from age and arthritis has made the others impossible to adjust at times.

I like that sharpening steady. Have to try one once Darren gets them listed. I've always sharpened freehand, but do so love gadgets.

Thanks for your demo!
