here is my small collection of sheath knives... from the top
An old Tramontina Carbon Bowie that i fixed up and rehandled (my first):)
A Cattaraugus 225Q
My new spike knife courtesy of BF member butchesforge:thumbup:
unbranded "esco" sportsman
The spike knife is a great little knife with surprisingly good ergonomics (i have pretty big hands) and it shaves hair even after whittlin sticks and cutting some cardboard yesterday:D
Big thanks to Butch for taking my suggestions and crafting one cool little knife for me. Anyway thought i'd share
cheers

Thanks, I like that last one in particular.is it stainless or other?

not sure which last one ya mean so,
the small sportsman style is carbon steel only marking is a blade etch that says esco high tempered carbon steel ? dunno never seen another one like it not a bad score for under 20 bucks and its got the sheath too:D
the spike knife is carbon steel railroad spike dunno what kind typically lower quality steel but it takes a wicked edge so even if it doesnt keep it as long as some of the newer steels at least its easy to sharpen back up:thumbup:

Yes that Sportsman, what a steal for 20 USD congrats.Very nice looking knife.

That spike looks cool, and you did a good job on the bowie.

Peter

The bowie was a chore i had never fixed up a knife before, its not perfect but its done:D
The RR spike knife is amazing, i had read about the lower quality steel and edge retention being a problem, what ever Butch is doing its working:thumbup: I whittled sticks and cut some cardboard not hard use but its still shaving so we will see.
cheers
