Just a really short video of me chopping up a tree, it's not the best because I shot it with my Digital Camera, it's in HD though. :)

If you don't mind a little critique:

You're chopping a bit far back on the blade.
Try hitting on the sweet spot (where the blade curves up) next time. Less blade length making contact with the wood means a deeper chop, and you'll blow out bigger chips. That first limb probably would have come off with one shot.

I also like to have my pinky finger behind the pommel to get a little more "whipping" action out of the blade.

YMMV.

Still not used to it yet, with my Khurkies the sweet spot is about where I am hitting it with the FBM and ther other Bowies they are further back also. :o

With that background noise, sounds like that CGFBM has a chain saw motor on it.:)

I think you found out why silly thing dangling off the butt of the knife are useless as well. Put that lanyard on your wrist, or cut that silly stuff off. D-guards are fine, but I finish mine right at the rear talon hole with a lanyard knot....no dangly strings to distract or get in the way. Thanks for sharing!

I cut it a lot shorter so I can put it around my wrist better, it's the same length as I have on my other Bowie's now.

It is taking me some time getting good at chopping with one also. It is all what you are used to I think.

I think so, old habits are hard to break, the weather here has been bad for awhile so I haven't had much of a chance to get out as I would like to. :D

Everything takes time. :)

I run the wrist lanyard through the first handle tube.

Looks like fun. I did a bit of bush trimming with my FBMLE yesterday. It was totally overkill for the majority of what I was chopping.

I think I caught a glimpse of your head... and you didn't have a Hockey Mask on:eek:

J/K:p Thanks for the vid:thumbup:

Looks pretty nice to me. The D90 takes excellent video.

It has a great look to it! Make more videos! lol;)

Thanks. :D

I will make another one, it will be better, it was my 1st attempt. ;) :D
