I like your setup, I started with almost the same except I went with a 119 instead of the the gck series. Kinda wish that I had now.

I vote a hunting fixed blade.
A 102 or 105 is pretty versatile.
102 makes for a nice little steak knife too.😊

That SK Blades 104 is a winner!👍
Flat grind and micarta handle....... What's not to like about that?😎
I like that SK Blades 104 and would get one myself if I could. They currently have no merchandise for sale according the webpage. Unless I have the wrong webpage.

You've probably got the right webpage. SK Blades used to sell only Buck SFO's. Buck made a decision to stop doing SFO's so unfortunately, you won't see anything on that website for the foreseeable future.

SK Blades had some great Buck knives. Our own forum knife would have never been made without Steven at SK Blades at the helm.

Thanks for update. Has there been any world on what they are going to do, if anything?

I’m going by memory only here so please take this with a grain of salt.

I remember getting an email from SK Blades that basically said they were going out of business. That’s the way I understood it anyway.
That is a real shame they turned really great stuff and I was never able to get any. As near as I can tell your memory is spot on. Their facebook page hasn't been updated since 2019.

yep you're remembering right.....

a big loss as they had Buck make some great stuff they never would have made on their own.......

SK made Buck money..But runs of 250 to 500 knives I would guess not enough to keep doing it. I sometimes wonder how much of Bucks sales are to collectors like us? Same with the Custom shop..I know I have bought a lot of 112's.

Not a bad start.
Personally I think for a Small Buck collection you really need to add a small Buck to your collection.
Either get a 524 alumni, or go on Ebay and get a 305 lancer.
Both are great, but the lancer is my favorite Buck model and that's my suggestion.
A standard black valox is easy to get in good condition under $50.

Hopefully they return if Buck ever gets the slipjoint line revamped like we all keep hearing they're supposed to.
