My small EDC collection

Over the past few years, I have started to go for quality, instead of quantity for the knives I choose to own. Instead of lots of impulse buys, I now try to only acquire knives that I feel truly drawn to. Instead of owning dozens of meaningless folders as I have in the past, I now try to select my blades more wisely. I was just cleaning these knives. I realized that, while this collection is small, I am truly happy with the few models I own.......

As you can tell, I like my folders on the larger side.

SOG Spec Elite 2 (probably my least favorite of the bunch)
Benchmade Rukus
Benchmade Rukus SBK
Benchmade Skirmish
Emerson Super CQC 8
Emerson Super CQC 7
Spyderco Manix
Spyderco Chinook 1
Cold Steel Hold Out 2 (while less expensive than my other folders, this one is always with me....usually carried as a backup to one of the others. Usually carry in my back right pocket)

good collection. I do the same thing and have several production knives I need to put on ebay which I will use towards a strider sng cc or Les George VECP.

yup I think thats the natural progression of knife buying but that said cheaper production knives are also very useful.

Very nice!!! I hope to go about building my collection in the same way. Few and chosen...

Nice collection. Collections evolve. Mine followed a similiar path, each knife revealing pros and cons which ultimately led me to custom and semi-custom productions.

I want to add a Super Roadhouse, and then an UBR Commander. Then, I think I am going the custom route.

My collection has been getting smaller and smaller recently as well. I still make some impulse buys, but if I own a knife and ALL it does is sit in a drawer, it's getting sold. I'd rather have something that I'm drawn to enough to want to slip it in my pocket every once in a while :)

That's not a bad collection. Mine has been weedled down to just a few lately and I am buying fewer, more expensive knives.

You need a D/A OTF and a balisong to round things out.

I'll agree with that. I just got one of each: an Ultratech and a Bradley Kimura. I'm loving them both. In fact I like the Kimura so much I bought a Spyderco Smallfly last night to go in the edc rotation. They're both great fun.

I love the looks of a Microtech Halo, but couldn't carry it. Hence the price doesn't seem worth it.

Have not seen a balisong yet that catches my eye.

After the Super Roadhouse, I may begin to look around for one.
