Just got this vintage 165 and its just the way I like it: pitted, well used, but still is in overall good condition. I got all the blood and guts off of it using some mineral oil and extra-fine steel wool. The sheath smoked 4 packs a day and was really "used" so I'm going to get a new set of pants for it. Planning on using it for backpacking. This knife feels right in your hand.

Here it is with a couple of its younger brothers. I REALLY like the folding hunter, too. It's one of my favorite knives with a solid liner lock and awesome vintage look. The 1940 is cool but still looks too new.
