This is my first CRK. The highest quality knives I had before this were high end Spyderco's. Now, all of those were great. Great materials, fit and finish etc...

But the Sebenza is just something else. All I could think was: "this is it baby, THIS IS IT!" :D

It's perfect! There's no other word for it. I just hope I can stop fondling it and actually use it :)

PS: Sorry about starting another "My first Sebenza" thread, but I couldn't help myself :o

Yeah, those large LE Damascus sebenzas look awfully nice :D

I think my bank account needs some time to recover though, as I just ordered a Busse Combat AK-47 ;)

Congrats on the new Sebbie! They are great knives and hope that you will enjoy it for a long time. I received my first Sebenza (plain large Classic MM) a few weeks ago. I also purchased a small Classic with micarta inlays not too long after that. I think I will be fondling it for a while also before I really use it.

congradulations on your purchase.my large and small micarta are away for a bit getting fitted for some leather.

Thanks!

A late congrats on your sebbies mauiblue :)

Mmmmm, leather looks nice... NO! must...resist....new car comes first :(

I would definitely look into getting a pocket or belt sheath if you will be carrying it with you. I purchased a Chris Reeve belt sheath for each of my Sebenza knives. I plan to use them whenever possible and for me it is easier to carry on a belt because my pockets are already full. On eBay there is a guy from Canada that does some great sheaths for the large and small Sebbies. Also, there is a couple mentions of other casemakers here in the forums to check them out as well.

Those sheaths look great and I would probably get one if I lived in a more knife friendly place.

Unfortunately Norway has a stupid law that makes it illegal to carry "any sharp object designed to or capable of causing injury or death" in a public place (ie outside your home). The only exeption is if you're out hiking/hunting in the woods. Violation of this law has a maximum sentence of 6 months in prison! :barf: :jerkit:

Anyway, because of this I have to conceal my EDC knife. My watch pocket can conceal a knife completely if I don't use the pocket clip, as long as the knife is maximum 4" long when closed. This is the reason I went with the small sebenza instead of the large one.

Wow, that is a harsh law. So even a pen or pencil could be considered illegal - just kidding! A cool pocket sheath would do well for you then.

Yikes, those are harsh laws there!! I think perhaps a pocket sheath might be in order?

Extremely harsh law indeed. I think it's a stupid law so I'm choosing to ignore it. I only abide by laws I agree with :p

Stupid bedwetting NKP politicians don't understand that in 95% of all crimes commited with knives, the knife in question is actually an ordinary kitchen knife. And it's not like criminals will be thinking "I'll rob some old people today, but I better not bring a knife, as that's illegal!" :jerkit:

Sorry for ranting. Norway is mostly a great place to live, but we do have a few silly laws. Anyway, those pocket sheaths look really classy. I might order one or two, along with a titanium clip insert thingy :)

What does LE stand for? I have seen it many times before but for the life of me I can't figure it out. I know I will have one of those slap forehead and say "Duh" moments when you guys tell me.
