My Small Sebenza 21 has spoiled me.

I got a small 21 a few weeks ago and ever since, every folder I pick up feels like a cheap knife. I just got a Ritter Grip in the mail and it is going back. The QC wasn't good on the edge and it just plain felt like a toy. I am not bashing BM, as the price difference of the two knives is huge and I don't expect the Ritter to be better than the Sebenza.....but still, the difference is HUGE. Although I do like the Axis and ease of opening of the Ritter.

My CRK is going to be my only knife I think. I can't afford another one and the clip on mine is already getting jacked up from getting bumped into things. I just love it.

Anyone else CRK spoiled?:D

I kinda see where you're coming from, Sebenza's are way above less expensive folders in various ways but I still like my Benchmades and spydercos and carry them often,
just depends on what mood I'm in I guess.

My BM skirmish and spyderco leafstorm are two of my favorites, and as long as it's a quality piece, especially a frame lock, I'm open to a wide variety of knives.

Right here, brother!

In terms of value, I think CRK delivers better than any other manufacturer. They are not for everyone, and they are not cheap, but I honestly feel they are worth more than I paid.

How many other things can have that said about them?

I agree to a point, but there are plenty of other quality offerings from kershaw, spyderco, and benchmade.

i feel as though my sebenza is just at a different level when compared to my other knives, spyderco kershaw ESEE. i consider the latter production while i consider the sebenza midtech. there is really no comparing.

Don't get me wrong, and I am really happy that you have found The One, but the Ritter Gript is a totally top knife

Big fan of CRK, and no big fan of BM, I have to say, but that RitterGript is just fantastic for outdoors

I started off with a Shadow III, then after several OPR, I finally got my first sebenza, a large regular BG-42. That one did not get much carry as I bought another and kept the vintage BG-42 safe bound due to the hard to find older steel. I carried my large regular S30V and had it custom engraved by CRK. I carried some small sebbies and mnandi's after that until I got my hands on the umnumzaan which I have yet to put in the safe. The zaan is my edc do everything knife and I could not be happier with it.........CRK are more money than many knives out there and there are alot of knives out there that are even more then them. I feel with a CRK, you get the best knife out there bar none. I have yet to see a knife stack up to them. Strider is a poor excuse of a $400+ knife, an XM-18's look nice and comparable, but I am not going to pay the imflated prices. Benchmades cant compare and Spyderco, even though they make great knives, they are a step below CRK quality, fit and finnish, and customer service. There are other great companies out there as mentioned, but none compare to CRK. Chris, Anne, Heather and the gang are simply the best. To anyone thinking about a CRK, they might be more expensive when compared to other brands, but your getting the very best knife for the money spent......guaranteed !!!

I'm in the same boat as well. Use to be a die hard fan of BM/Spyderco but I no longer carry either of them. I now own 3 CRK small sebenzas.

There are many quality knives out there for a fraction of what we paid for CRK but they just aren't a CRK.

My experience has been the reverse. I hardly ever carry my Small Sebenza as I prefer the Mini Ritter Grips in M2HS and CPM-M4. The Seb's S30V steel is much too soft for my liking, I find the Mini RSKs to be much quicker and easier to open and close, and more comfortable to use.

I wondered what all the fuss was about Sebenzas, till I got one. Hands down the best folder I have ever owned period.

Just to clarify what I said earlier. There are many fine production knives out there today from makers like Benchmade, Kershaw, and Spyderco.

However, I will absolutely stand by my statement that, dollar-for-dollar, the CRK knives deliver the most value. That is taking into account that they come at a cost much greater than others.

Yes, that is my personal opinion, and worth exactly what you paid for it. But, dollar-for-dollar, it is the best opinion out there! ;)

Sebenza? Nah, I carry an Umnumzaan. :D

It has pushed all other knives out of my pocket.

Although my large Sebenza is without question my best folder I can't just have one knife for everything. That's the knife nut in me talking.;) I think you should keep the Ritter because they are sweet knives. Don't let the hollow handle fool you, it is one tough knife. I prefer to use my cheaper (price wise) knives if I think their is a chance of messing up the blade. Sebenzas are tough as nails but no knife is indestructible so why chance ruining your best knife?

I think for fit, finish and just down right no frills get it done my Lg Sebenza can't be beat.

I think I will eventually get an Umnum also.

I, like others, will never be able to just have one knife to satisfy me.

So - since I'm not a rich guy - I will still own and carry less expensive offerings from companies like BM and Spyderco. But my Sebenza will probably get the most pocket time during the week.

It went like this for me:

When I was a boy I went through some Swiss Army knives and Spyderco's. Then, I got older, got a job where a knife was crucial and I carried a Spyderco. Then, a co-worker showed me his Kershaw Speed-Safe and I went out and bought one.

I said, "This is the best knife ever!"

Then I joined the forums and learned of Emerson. So, I bought one.

I said, "Wow! This IS the best knife ever!"

Then I browsed more and kept reading the word, "Sebenza." So, after a long time and many Emerson's, I finally bought one.

Now there's no going back. My small Insingo to me is perfection and I don't feel the need to own any other folders at the moment. Truth be told, nothing other than CRK really interests me now.

I have officially been bit by the bug.

i had a small classic,sold it...knew i had made a mistake & replaced it w/ the small 21
its the only knife i have felt that way

The BM is already on the way back. I agree they are sweet knives, but the quality control on this one and the 2 previous M4 versions was no where near my mini grip 557....and that one was only $60 new. BMs customer service is tops, but I don't think I will be buying one again. I am not really a collector and do outdoors stuff. Just like having a pocket knife. I am on the look out for an XM18 3" though......:)

I caught the virus last winter....went through some cheaper s&w knives that I thought were the best....stumbled upon the forums and kept reading "Sebenza"...finally mustered up the courage to spend that kind of cash....and fell in love....thought maybe I didn't need such an expensive knife...and sold it foolishly....and have been battling with kershaws, spydercos, benchmades, bradleys....and just must have a sebenza!

So I went and sold everything I had to get a sebenza again. Trying out a regular this time....I can't wait 3 days for delievery....

I ended up keeping the BM but it is going in to knifeknuts when he has time for a "real" edge.;)
