As a kid I was mad about swords and knives. Well my son is too. For me it was gathered sticks and later on some wooden creations and a modified machete into a ninja sword.

Well, my son is a little luckier. I like to try out some ideas in wood before tackling the real thing or just make what he wants. These are what I've made for him. The dulicates are for my daughter who sometimes likes to play too.

A little levity for a Sunday evening. :p:p:D

A lucky boy. A talented dad. That's a REAL big smile he's wearing. :)

Priceless.

Thanks for my smile!

I made a large wooden English Broad Sword when I was a kid and I loved it! What a wonderful collection of some serious toys!

The first sword I made, beyond wrapping a stick with tin foil, was after seeing Conan for the first time. I tried to make a copy of his sword and it was pretty cool but not very strong.
These ones are all through tang construction. :p

you have a couple great kids there Stu, really great kids! Must have some good parents eh?

My brother carved me a wooden "Rambo knife", complete with saw teeth. Wish I still had it.

That's one lucky kid there. :D

VERY cool Stuart. AWESOME pic of your son!

I would say he is very lucky having such a great dad.

Way cool. Those must be the nicest wooden swords EVER!

Thanks for posting!

Kind regards,

Jos

The other night he had a nightmare or something and switched rooms. When I saw him in the morning he had brought those two swords and the "katanakake" sword stand to have next to the bed. :p

I do have great kids, thanks!
