My oldest son, who is 8, will be starting 3rd grade this year. This is the year he will be a Bear in Cub Scouts and will be eligible for his whittler's chip. I promised him if he did well in school last year I would take him to buy his first knife. He could pick any of the Case knives in the shop short of the Tony Bose. I don't even have one of those
So he did well and with school around the corner, I took him to the store. He picked a Splitback Whittler in SS. You can google "C6487 Case William Russell Case Chestnut Bone Splitback Whittler" to see the knife he picked.
I am impressed at his choice. This is a very nice knife with no wobble or other issues. He is quite proud to have a knife like the ones I have. So far the knife and him are inseparable. I sharpened the main blade for him today.
